When I took him to get his vaccines done last month, I wanted to check his teeth 🦷 situation due to his age. The vet didn’t see anything alarming but he did say that it would be good to do some cleaning that there isn’t any infections growing.
First I didn’t think that I would go ahead due to his age and that they would need to put him under anesthesia and him also being affected with MDR1.
The MDR1 (multidrug resistance 1) gene mutation affects how dogs process certain medications, potentially causing severe or fatal reactions.
But he is in such a good shape that I decided to get his dental cleaning done (and paid over $800 for it 😅).
He is recovering well and they didn’t have to pull any teeth which is always a plus. They actually said that his teeth are in pretty good shape considering his age.
I believe one of the reasons is that Jax had complete dental cleaning done, maybe 2017 which I think really has helped (even though it’s been almost 10 years lol).
I asked them to run extensive blood panel as well and everything else came back good except his thyroid levels are low.
He doesn’t have any of the symptoms (for example skin issues, coat issues or weight gain) so right now we are just monitoring him for couple of weeks.
I believe in older dogs thyroid levels can drop low?
Just happy that my boy is back and he doesn’t seem to be in any pain at the moment 💙
Today these little puppies turn 2 years old and I am happy to share that they have turned out to be the companions & family members that I always hoped for 🩷
They compete in different sports and are actively training but most of all they all have amazing families who love them dearly and are giving the puppies the best lives possible.
Truly the best thing a breeder can hope for ❤️

There will never be a dog like Jax in this lifetime. He has been everything I hoped in a dog and so much more.
From the beginning he had natural instinct to protect me (and they also mentioned that in his character test - the judge said that you will never need to be scared of anything or anyone with this dog 🥰).
He is protective but at the same time, he is also certified therapy dog and was amazing teaching our puppies all the important things when they were young.
But most of all, he is my best friend and always ready for new adventures ❤️
